Laguna Beach, CA

Our itinerary

Day 1

Who doesn't love a spur of the moment road trip to the beach? I had been working at a client’s house in Laguna all week, so at the last minute we decided to find & book a hotel room for a night in the cute beach town. After work, Alec picked me up and we headed to our hotel to check in around 4pm. Once we arrived we realized that we made the best choice ever by staying at The Inn at Laguna Beach. They had the most incredible amenities, friendliest staff, and were following all the covid procedures to make our stay safe too. Once we got to our hotel room & dropped our bags, we headed back to the lobby to grab a glass of wine (which was free but tipping is suggested). They were offering cab or sav, we both got sav, and headed up to the Terrace on the 3rd floor to watch the most gorgeous sunset. Once we both finished our glasses we went back to our hotel room to order dinner from Reunion Kitchen + Bar. In southern California we still cannot eat inside of restaurants, however many places have outdoor dining areas so you can eat your “to-go food” there. The walk to dinner was about 10 minutes from our hotel & super well lit sidewalks. To drink I ordered a strawberry lemon drop and Alec got a vanilla old fashioned. For food Alec had the chicken and biscuits with gravy and I got blackened chicken pasta, both were incredible! After dinner we headed back to the hotel, daydreaming about living in Laguna one day.

Day 2

The next morning we slept in and enjoyed a slow morning, which is pretty typical for us on the weekends. Once we were ready to get our day going, we headed back to the lobby, right where the wine bar was the night before, to grab a cup of joe. We sipped our coffees on the Terrace again because we couldn't get enough of the view. After we finished our coffees we walked about 5 minutes to Anastasia for breakfast. There was a walk up counter inside the restaurant for ordering, then we got a number & they brought out our “to-go food” to us on their patio filled with tons of shade + umbrellas. We both ordered the freshest oj to drink. To eat Alec got the breakfast combo with eggs, bacon, and French toast with a caramel sauce and I got the chicken pesto salad that came with a fresh side salad. Once we finished eating we walked to the farmers market across the street to wonder around before heading back to the hotel to pack & check out. After checking out, we walked down to the beach to spend the afternoon right below our hotel. Once we got all the sun we could (we couldn’t be too much or we could both burn lol), we walked down the beach to see some tide pools and take some pics. At this point the beach was pretty packed so we decided we were ready to pack up the car & head back home. It was about an hour drive back to our area however, it did take longer than usual to get to the freeway due to all the people there that weekend. Before hitting the road though we had to grab some delicious smoothies from Tippy’s of course. The perfect snack to end a great getaway weekend!

Where to stay

The Inn at Laguna Beach was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. They had incredible amenities; wine hour every afternoon from 5-6pm, freshly baked cookies every night in the lobby, and a coffee bar every morning. The views from the hotel were gorgeous and there was easy access to the beach plus restaurants nearby. Highly recommend choosing this spot next time you find yourself in Laguna Beach!!

Be sure to use code STEGALL when checking out for an additional 10% off your stay!
