Baby Registry

We chose to register through Babylist.com! This is a great option if you are looking to register for things on a bunch of different websites (Target, Amazon, small shops, etc.). This company allows you to add all sorts of different brands and necessities easily + offers great organizational features to help categorize and keep your list clean.

Below I have gone ahead and listed out each of the categories we added items to on our registry and shared generically all the things we registered for. Here is our registry for our first baby with links to everything listed below! Happy planning :)

  • Moms on Call book

  • Taking Cara Babies

  • Frida Mom labor, delivery, + postpartum recovery kit

  • Frida Mom postpartum underwear

  • ICEWRAPS Perineal ice packs

  • Dermoplast relief spray

  • Tucks cooling pads

  • Breast pump (check to see if your insurance covers this first)

  • Breast milk storage bags

  • Nursing bras

  • 3-in-1 breast heated/cooling pads

  • Nursing pads

  • Nipple butter

  • Silverettes

  • Sunflower lecithin supplements

  • Frida Mom alcohol detection test strips

Once baby boy is born, I plan to do a whole blog post on postpartum sharing all the things I used, what helped me physically/mentally, and so much more. Above are just items I researched and found that helped a lot of women through those early newborn days. So be sure to stay on the lookout for that detailed blog post in the coming months!

  • Boppy nursing pillow + cover- great to have while nursing the baby!

  • Pumping bag

  • Bottle warmer- tons of great options all ranging in prices on this item. We went with the Munchkin Digital Bottle Warmer but people rave about this BabyBreeza one too.

  • Bottles- countless brands and styles for baby bottles. We ended up going with the Dr. Brown Anit-Colic bottles but people say all babies are different and like different bottles so just do research on what is best for you + your family and go from there is our best advice.

  • High chair

  • Burp clothes- don't need anything fancy here just a lot of them! These Muslin Burp Cloths are some of the most affordable, basic ones recommended.

  • Bibs

  • Baby bottle cleaning brushes

  • Drying rack

  • Collapsible dish tub

  • Bottle sterilizer & dryer machine- another highly recommended product is the BabyBrezza Sterilizer/Dryer.

  • Baby monitor- make sure to do your own research here on what is going to be the best baby monitor for you + your family. We went with the Infant Optics monitor because of its security features but I know a lot of people also really like the Nanit & Owlet.

  • Baby lounger + cover- pretty much the #1 fan fave lounger is the SnuggleMe which is great for when you need to set baby down + it helps them feel safe & secure.

  • Velcro sleep sacks- the SwaddleMe Wrap is another highly recommended sleep essential for the newborn phase making swaddling even easier and ensures the baby's arms won't escape out. There are tons of other velcro sleep sack options as well all ranging in price, style, & color!

  • Sleep bags- once baby gets a little bigger and can sleep with their hands free, it's great to switch to sleep bags (which are basically weighted blankets to keep baby warm + safe and not be a choking hazard). Kyte Baby offers all different colors, prints, and tog sizes that everyone loves! Here's a link to more information on what the different tog sizes mean/which one is best for your little babe!

  • Swaddles

  • Sleep-suit- for when the baby gets older and is more mobile.

  • Diaper bag

  • Travel changing pad

  • Diaper caddy- great to have stocked up with all the essentials and be able to easily carry throughout the house so you are ready to change that diaper on demand!

  • Changing pad- tons of different options on this essential item but most people just recommend getting one that can be easily cleaned/wiped off, so we went with the Keekaroo Peanut Changer.

  • Diapers- there are SO many different brands and styles of diapers but the two that were most highly rated when we did our research were the Coterie Diapers (on the expensive side) and the Pampers Swaddlers. We registered for the Pampers just because it was more cost effective for us but people also say every baby is different and some diapers might not work so don't get too many of one brand before your little one is born because you might have to switch to something different.

  • Diaper rash cream- #1 recommended cream is Desitin Maximum Strength with the runner up being Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment.

  • Diaper cream spatula

  • Diaper pail + bags- everyone loves the Ubbi Diaper Pail and swears that when it is closed you can't smell a thing but we will see about that ;)

  • Wipes- another necessity but hard to know where to begin with all of the different brands! Again Coterie Wipes are the #1 choice but just expensive so we are starting with Wet Wipes and plan to go from there. If your baby has very sensitive skin the Coterie are the way to go plus they are super absorbent so you need less.

  • Wipe warmer- the Prince LionHeart Wipe Warmer is another very popular item on baby registries to help warm the wipes before use and keep the baby from getting too cold.

  • Stroller- check out the list of baby strollers below!

  • Portable fan

  • Car seat- check out the list of baby car seats below!

  • Back seat mirror

  • Bassinet- tons of different options here but from the research we did it's important to get one that is practical and/or has a side zipper to make it easier to get the baby out of in the middle of the night for feeds/changed. Although there are many beautiful options like the Snoo (that actually rocks the baby) or the Design Dua, these are pricey and not super functional. A lot of people love the Newton Bassinet or the Baby Delight Bassinet but we decided to just use our bassinet from our Mockingbird stroller as the bassinet in our room as well.

  • Portable bouncer- the most popular baby bouncer is the Babybjorn but it is pricey so the new "it" affordable bouncer is the Baby Delight which does the exact same thing at a fraction of the cost.

  • Baby wrap/carriers- 3 top brands for baby wearing are the Artipoppe, ErgoBaby, and Solly Baby. Each has their own unique qualities but all are pretty expensive. Artipoppe is known for more stylish, high quality fabric, ErgoBaby is great for wear & tear (sweating, being outside, etc.), and the Solly Baby is best for newborns because it gives you that really good snuggly feel.

As far as strollers go, here are some of the top brands to buy your stroller/carseat from all ranging in prices-

  • Doona- great for travel + everyday use because it is small but don't be fooled, it is heavy!

  • Mockingbird- affordable option comparable to the Nuna and UppaBaby.

  • Nuna- beautiful stroller with tons of different configurations just pricey.

  • UppaBaby- beautiful stroller with tons of different configurations just pricey.

  • Chicco- #1 safest carseat on the market!

  • FridaBaby basics kit- FridaBaby offers tons of great products from grooming to gas relief and so much more!

  • Baby-Be-Well bundle- Wellements this is a popular brand that offers baby safe medicine, vitamins, and other supplements to help support your little ones growth and development.

  • Humidifier

  • Aquaphor baby healing ointment

  • Baby detergent- there are a ton of different "baby friendly" detergent brands out there but the most popular one is Dreft.

  • Pacifier wipes

  • Noise canceling headphones- great for church, weddings, or any loud event you take your baby/child to.

  • Bathtime essentials (knee + elbow pads, cup, & spout cover)- the Lalo Bathtime Essentials and the Skip Hop Moby Baby Bath set are the 2 most popular packs for all of your bathtime needs.

  • Bath supporter- the Angelcare Baby Bath Support is another item that was on everyone's registry. This is great to use when bathing your child once they are big enough to sit in it in the bathtub.

  • Inflatable tub- this Boon Puff Inflatable Bathtub is great to use in those newborn days when bathing your baby in the sink + it is softer and has a cloth to cover up your little one to help keep them warmer too.

  • Robe

  • Towels

  • Washcloths

  • Thermometer

  • Crib

  • Mattress- the Newton Crib Mattress is hands down the most recommended product for your child on the market. It's breathable makeup allows parents to rest easy throughout the night (especially if your baby is a tummy sleeper when they get older).

  • Mattress cover

  • Sheets- Muslin sheets are the rave for baby cribs!

  • Blankets

  • Glider

  • Sound machine- the Hatch Sound Machine is another highly recommended product for both babies and adults.

  • Nightlight- this easy touch control MediAcous Night Light is another product that was on everyone's registry when I was researching what to add to ours. It is suppose to make the nighttime feeds easier so you don't have to turn on a lot of lights & wake everyone up.

  • Hangers + closet dividers

  • Drawer organizers + dividers

  • Socks

  • Mittens

  • Beanies/hats

  • Outfits (for when baby is older/bigger)

  • Onesies- ranging in sizes

  • Footie pajamas- ranging in sizes

As far as onesies and footies go, here are some of the top brands/places to buy tons of these for your little one-

  • Pacifiers

  • Pacifier clips

  • Pacifier holder

  • Loveys

  • Stuffed animals

  • Teething toys

  • Stroller toys

  • Play mat- the 2 most popular playmates are the Lovevery Play Gym and the Lalo Play Gym.

  • Pack-n-Play- the most highly recommended one is the 4Moms Breeze, however it is on the pricer side so I will report back on if we use it/how much.

General

  • Keepsake memory book

Again here is our registry for our first baby with links to everything listed above! Remember in the beginning all you truly need is a car seat, bassinet, lots of onesies, and postpartum items for momma. So don't get overwhelmed with the amount of "things you need" for a new baby.

xo,

The Stegalls

P.S. I'll report back in about 6 months on what products we actually used + liked and even share a list of our top must have items too, so stay tuned!
